Hello visiter!

This weeks works involves optimizing parameters that affect the stiffness of the beam.

Parameters affecting stiffness of beams:

  • Slenderness ratio

  • Short column/long column

  • Concrete grade

Different types of loading:

  • Torsion

  • Compression

  • Tension
Lower the slenderness ratio, higher the buckling load.

Concrete filled tube is less advantageous in short columns.

As the concrete grade increases, the deformation decreases.

Concrete filled tubes have high resistance to torsional loads.

Concrete filled tubes have low deformation in axial compression, but low resistance to fracture in tension.

Currently working on applying torsion and axial loading at same time.
